FAVELA KIDS: LOOKING INTO THE FUTURE







Projecto Morrinho has increasingly garnered attention for its amazing aesthetics and the ingenuity of its child creators. Their initiatives, TV Morrinho, Tourism at Morrinho, Expo Morrinho and Morrinho Social, play important role in realizing the vision of Project Morrinho, contributing to the social, cultural and economic development of the surrounding areas. Currently, the project works with more than 20 teenagers.

ASMARE has about 380 members and benefits more than 1500 people. In addition to the daily work done by the scavengers, the association develops partnerships with companies, schools, condominiums, public agencies, among others, to collect their recyclable waste, generating and sustaining jobs for collectors and ex-homeless people. Their industrial production works out in combination with the recovering of the self-esteem and citizenship of that population historically excluded.
